The short version
Enolisa is local-first:
- Your cellar and tastings are stored on your device so the core experience works smoothly.
When you log in, Enolisa can sync your data to cloud services so it’s available across devices and safer against device loss.

Local-first (what it means)
Local-first means:
- You can browse your cellar and open your tasting journal without depending on continuous network access.
- Network-dependent features (like label scanning, certain recommendation calls, or fetching “Today in your cellar”) still require connectivity.
Accounts: guest mode vs logged-in
Guest mode
Enolisa supports a guest experience (including anonymous sessions).
Conceptually:
- You can start using the app quickly.
- Some account-level features (cross-device sync, certain AI features and Premium linking) work best when you link to a real account.
Logged-in mode
When you log in (Google / Apple / email):
- Enolisa can synchronize your data with cloud services tied to your account.
- This helps with continuity across devices.
What about photos?
Enolisa supports wine photos. Photos may be synchronized in the background when the app detects pending items to sync.
Practical implications:
- Photos might appear on a new device after the sync completes.
- If you have many photos, syncing can take time and happens progressively.
Security notes (high level)
Enolisa uses device secure storage for an encryption key and can synchronize it after login to support restore/multi-device continuity.
Important:
- Do not claim end-to-end encryption unless it is explicitly stated in the official privacy policy.
- For any security or privacy claims, defer to: Privacy policy
